Halesite is located in Huntington on the North Shore of Long Island in Suffolk County, New York, United States.  Halesite has a busy boat ramp that’s used by the public. This boat ramp is very busy during the boating season busy enough where you might have to wait for your turn to unload your boat. Remember to detach your trailer from your boat :) .  Halesite marks the beginning of Huntington Harbor where weekend warriors go to start their fun filled boating days. From Huntington Harbor boaters can easily access Huntington Bay, Nothport Bay, LLoyd Harbor, Centerport Harbor, Northport Harbor and the Long Island Sound. This whole area is well suited for all the best water sports and activities. It’s big enough to accomodate lots of boats but small enough to make you feel as if you’re in a small paradise.

Some activities enjoyed here are camping out at Hobart’s Beach Park or affectionately known as Sand City because it used to be a sand off-loading facility for the concrete industry.  This camping experience is special because you take your boat there and set up your campsite on the beach. You can take your car too but the boat makes it more enjoyable. After setting up camp the swimming at sand city is fun and different because the old structure still stands on an island a short swim across from the camping area. There’s a lot of knooks and crannys to explore and little areas you can use to jump into the water from.

Lloyd harbor is a nice little alcove known for it’s serenity and no cross boat traffic. Making it ideal to moore up with all your other boating friends and also to allow for a nice area to waterski in.

Halesite was named after Nathan Hale a war hero during the revolutionary war. He was caught by the British spying for his homeland. His dedication and bravery inspired many a men who made the ultimate sacrifice for their homeland.

Halesite NY is a small town which could be classified as a hamlet because of it’s small size. There are nice restaurants, ball fields and it has a rich history. If you live in the area you would probably consider yourself lucky to live here.
