Laurel Hollow

Laurel Hollow Long Island NY was originally called Laurelton. The name was changed to Laurel Hollow so as not to confuse it with the town in Queens. The village of Laurel Hollow is situated on the western shore of Cold Spring Harbor in the township of Oyster Bay in Nassau county. The actual size of the community is only 2,000 acres and is heavily wooded giving it a country feel. The proliferation of Laurel bushes and huge oak trees may have had some appeal as to it’s name.
