Lefferts Tide Mill Long Island NY was in it’s time at the height of technology in regards to mills. Considering today’s energy situation and our dependence on foreign oil we might want to consider what this mill represents. The mill used tidal currents to power their industry. The idea of using the predictable movements of tidal currents is a noble one. Back in the day we were required to think about how we were going to power our industry.
